Four people, including a child, have been attacked by a dog in Mitcham, south London, police have confirmed.
Metropolitan police officers were called to South Lodge Avenue at 11:21 BST after reports of a dog biting a child on the leg.
Minutes later, police were alerted to reports that a bus driver had also been bitten.
Both the child and bus driver were taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.
At 11:30 BST a further report was received that a 50-year-old female had been bitten by the dog and shortly afterwards a fourth person, of unknown sex, was identified as having been bitten and taken to a local hospital with facial injuries.
In a statement this afternoon, the Met said the dog is believed to have escaped from a nearby private property through a hole in a garden fence.
After an extensive search by police, the air support unit and dog handlers, the dog was located at 13:23 BST and shot dead.
Police confirmed that a 29-year-old woman from Mitcham has been arrested for "having a dog dangerously out of control".
She is currently at a south London police station.
