In a nutshell...
Sexy, jazzy, girls' night in
What's it all about?
Catfights and Spotlights is all about the Sugababes reassering their independent woman agenda with tracks like Unbreakable Heart and Girls.
Who's it by?
The Brit award-winning pops the most successful all-female act of the 21st century in the UK - who have had hits with About You Now and Overload, sold more than five million albums in the UK alone and had six number one singles here, as well as countless more around the world.
As an example...
"Hanging on a star/I was hanging round to fall in love/Now I know I'm ready."
Likelihood of a trip to the Grammys
It's a typical Sugababes album with girl power feeling and sultry voices. Their dance video for About You Now won the Brits so you never know.
What the others say
"They make the Sixties sound their own on You on a Good Day, while Side Chick and Unbreakable Heart recall the urban angst that made us fall in love with them. However, the throaty-voiced Amelle Berrabah is no replacement for the soulful, feisty pipes of the former member Mutya Buena." Priya Elan, Times
So is it any good?
Sugababes are like marmite, you either hate them or love them but one thing's for sure, you have to be in their frame of mind to listen to them. Their tracks like Girls and Hanging on a Star are pretty good but by the time you've heard five, you've heard enough. There's only so much whining about losing someone you love, a person can take. In fact, She's like a Star featuring Taio Cruz - a revamp of his own hit single - is like a breath of fresh air by the end of the album. This album is missing the glamour and spark of their previous albums and the lack of Mutya Buena is felt throughout.

"Terrible review, seriously. The fact you rate She's Like A Star above everything on the album shows how much you don't know about music. She's Like A Star is generic R 'n' B, whereas the majority of the music on Catfights is classy pop/R 'n' B. And shame on you for not even mentioning the murder ballad Every Heart Broken, one of the most interesting songs the girls have ever sung. Mutya's left the band, get over it, Amelle's here to stay and she's a perfect fit. Review the actual music next time. Geez." - Mark O
"This is a horrible review. The album is very mature and has great harmonies. The girls really know how to blend their voices to sound like angels. The entire CD is a masterpiece!! Best tracks: You On A Good Day, Hangin' On A Star, Sunday Rain, No Can Do, Girls." - Marcus B
