Iran's state television has reported further tests of hi-tech weapons in the Persian Gulf.
This follows Wednesday's firing of up to nine long and medium range missiles, including the latest version of the Shahab-3 which has a range of 2,000km and carries a one-ton conventional warhead.
Military authorities say all the weapons tested Thursday "hit their predefined hypothetical targets precisely."
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and units of the country's land, air and navy are on the third day of extensive maneouvers codenamed Great Prophet III.
Warships of the IRGC participated in the latest tests and included a test firing of the 'Hoot' (Whale) torpedo. Described as super-fast by Tehran, the Hoot entered service with IRGC naval units in 2006.
Iran's defense minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar says the missile tests are purely defensive in nature.
Wednesday's missile tests have been condemned by the US and
Israel. Secretary of state Condoleezza Rice said the Shahab-3 missile was of particular concern and said its testing justified Washington's push to establish a missile shield in Eastern
Europe.
