Police officers investigating the murders of three women in Bradford have announced remains found in the River Aire are not human.
The discovery was made in the river in Shipley on Saturday near to where body parts belonging to Suzanne Blamires were found last week.
A statement from West Yorkshire police said the force's underwater unit were continuing to search the river.
"Further forensic examinations on remains recovered this weekend show they are not human, but animal waste which appears to be from food preparation," the statement declared.
"The suitcase [full of tools also found in the river] recovered on Saturday is still to go undergo forensic tests."
Forty-year-old criminology student Stephen Griffiths is charged with the murder of Ms Blamires, Susan Rushworth and Shelley Armitage, all of whom worked as prostitutes in the Yorkshire city.
