Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has claimed Liverpool are still in the running to claim the fourth Champions League spot.
Rafa Benitez's men have already lost seven games this season, five more than the entire 2008/09 campaign, and lie in seventh place.
Spurs meanwhile have enjoyed an impressive first half to the season and currently lie in the much sought after fourth place, four points ahead of Liverpool. Between them also lie Manchester City and Aston Villa.
Redknapp, however, has claimed Liverpool, who his team are due to play on Sunday, are still the team to beat for the final Champions League place.
Speaking to the Sun he said: "I still don't think we should write Liverpool off for the fourth Champions League place.
"Seven teams will be scrapping it out of the top-four spots - including us - but I'd stake my life on Liverpool being the ones to beat if [Fernando] Torres and [Steven] Gerrard stay fit.
"Their performances this season have been surprising. But teams have good and bad runs - everyone was writing Arsenal off a few weeks ago but now they are in the mix again."
Liverpool are due to host Tottenham on Sunday at 16:00 GMT, weather permitting.
