Anglo-Swedish rockers Razorlight have claimed their debut UK number one single, while also ending Scissor Sisters' two-week dominance of the chart in one fell swoop.
America jumped 14 places to the top spot, while the Scissors' single I Don't Feel Like Dancing slipped to two.
Meanwhile in the album chart there was more disappointment for the flamboyant group as The Killers' Sam's Town debuted at one and US rockers Evanescence claimed the runners-up spot.
Back in the singles chart, David Hasselhoff's Knightrider-inspired My Car somehow winged its way in at number three, while P Diddy and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger are at four with Come to Me.
Bob Sinclair featuring Cutee B are at five with Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now), album champs The Killers' When You Were Young falls to six, while Lily Allen and Lil' Chris are at seven and eight respectively with LDN and Checkin' It Out.
Falling four to ninth place is Justin Timberlake and Sexyback, with Evanescence's Call Me When You're Sober completing the top ten.
