Rangers continued their fine run of form by taking a point from their Champions League meeting with Spanish giants Barcelona at Ibrox.
The visitors brought the full force of their attacking talents to bear on the Gers' defence with Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry all squeezed into Frank Rijkaard's line-up.
Walter Smith and the rest of the home dugout suffered several scares as Ronaldinho rattled the woodwork and Carlos Cuellar was called on to clear off the line from Messi.
But another famous Scottish win could have been on the cards had the hosts converted either of two chances in the closing stages.
Barry Ferguson and Daniel Cousin both went close before the game petered out to a draw that satisfied both managers.
Lyon recorded a 2-0 win away to VfB Stuttgart in group E's other clash with in-demand French international Karim Benzema grabbing the second.
In group F, Roma secured a 2-1 win at home to Sporting to cement second place behind Manchester United.
Former Tottenham striker Frederic Kanoute and Brazilian Luis Fabiano scored the goals as Sevilla beat Steaua Bucharest by the same scoreline to stay three points off Arsenal's lead in group H.
Inter Milan took a valuable three points from their visit to CSKA Moscow as a goal from defender Walter Samuel ten minutes from time snatched a 2-1 win in group G.
Meanwhile Fenebache and PSV played out a drab scoreless draw that was briefly enlivened by the sending-off of striker Deivid for the Turkish side.
