Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has signaled his determination to keep hold of Dimitar Berbatov in the face of more speculation on the forward's future.
The Bulgarian scored four goals in the weekend's win over Reading and provided an assist for Jermain Defoe's goal in Spurs' 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on New Year's Day.
After hitting a rich vein of form just as the transfer window is opening, rumours that Manchester United and Chelsea are both preparing big-money bids for the 26-year-old were lent weight by his agent's suggestions that a move could be in the offing.
Emil Dantchev was quoted as saying that Berbatov could depart White Hart Lane should a club that "corresponds to Dimitar's class and ambition comes in with an offer that suits his current club in January".
However Ramos has insisted that he has no intention of letting his star asset go, even if the north London outfit seem well-stocked in the striking department with Defoe, Robbie Keane and Darren Bent all part of the Spaniard's squad.
"Obviously Berbatov's agent is looking to do his business and has made his comments," Ramos said.
"But we are happy because we have the player on a contract, and we plan to keep him."
