Tim Henman's second-round match against Feliciano Lopez was interrupted after just two games of the first set as Wimbledon was hit by another deluge of rain.
Play was abandoned for the day at 19:45 BST, three hours after Henman and Lopez left centre court with the score tied at 1-1 in the first set.
It is the second successive match that Henman will have to finish the following day after his first-round epic against Carlos Moya was stretched over two days.
When they resume tomorrow it will be Henman's fourth consecutive day on centre court.
Elsewhere defending champion Roger Federer was denied a victory by the rain as he looked set to beat Spain's Juan Martin Del Potro.
Federer was 2-0 up in the third set having already claimed the first two sets 6-2 7-5. The world number one is looking for his 50th straight win on grass but will have to wait until tomorrow to finish off his 18-year-old opponent.
The Swiss could face Marat Safin in the next round if the Russian can overcome Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi in his second-round match.
12th seed Richard Gasquet was able to complete his match against compatriot Nicolas Mahut before the rain came. He progressed into the third round with a straight sets victory.
Having reached the final of Queen's two weeks ago Mahut had looked to be a tricky opponent for Gasquet. However the qualifier could not replicate his Queen's form and Gasquet took the match 6-4 6-3 6-4.
