Harlequins overcame Newcastle 14-3 in the relegation clash in the Guinness Premiership at Kingston Park.
First-half tries from David Strettle and Nick Easter, both converted by Adrian Jarvis, led the visitors to victory in driving rain.
Newcastle, without Jonny Wilkinson due to injury, had taken an early lead from Matt Burke's penalty on two minutes.
The victory moves Quins to eighth while the Falcons languish one place off the bottom.
