Queens Park Rangers have sacked manager Paulo Sousa after only five months in-charge of the Championship side.
Sousa is alleged to have "divulged highly confidential and sensitive information" although QPR have as of yet not revealed what the information is.
The former Juventus midfielder took over at Loftus Road in November after the sacking of Iain Dowie, but his position became jeopardised over the last few weeks.
Sousa claimed striker Dexter Blackstock was sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest last month without his permission and is thought to have held crisis talks with the club after that. The Italian's position came further into doubt after his assistant Bruno Oliveira had his contract terminated on Monday.
Gareth Ainsworth, who took over as caretaker manager after Dowie left, will once again take the helm on a temporary basis.
"Queens Park Rangers Football Club has today (Thursday) had to terminate Paulo De Sousa's employment with the club with immediate effect," read a club statement.
"It came to the club's attention that Mr De Sousa had, without authority, divulged highly confidential and sensitive information. The club, with legal advice, responded in this way to protect its position.
"Player/coach Gareth Ainsworth will take caretaker charge on a temporary basis, from now until the end of the season."
Sousa was a surprise choice to takeover at QPR back in November. The 38-year-old has minimal managerial experience with the Portugal under-15 team and as assistant to Portugal manager Carlos Queiroz.
