Former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren has been laid to rest in north London after his coffin was carried through the city in a horse-drawn carriage.
The late impresario died earlier this month at the age of 64, having battled a rare strain of cancer.
And the so-called "godfather of punk" was sent off in flamboyant fashion on Thursday as some 200 well-wishers, including McLaren's former partner, designer Vivienne Westwood, travelled through Camden towards Highgate cemetery.
"I am very, very sad that unbelievably Malcolm is dead and I just wanted to say on this cruel, cruel day... get a life, do something with it," said Westwood, with whom McLaren ran a boutique on London's King Road in the 1970s.
The boutique, later named Sex, was initially called Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die and that slogan was emblazoned on the impresario's coffin as he was laid to rest on Thursday.
The back of the bus carrying McLaren's coffin read: "Malcolm was here 1946-2010" and songs such as Sid Vicious' My Way and Max Bygraves' You Need Hands were played during the procession.
McLaren's son with Westwood, designer Joseph Corré, read an affectionate tribute from Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, including a joke about musician's royalties.
"Dear Malcolm, did you take the money with you? Is it in the coffin? Do you mind if I come back tomorrow and dig you up?" it said.
"I always had a soft spot for you. You showed me a lot when I was 17... and I owe you a lot for showing me a different side to life."
