Protestors have climbed the roof of the Houses of Parliament, calling for a change to the politics on climate change.
There are now 55 protestors on the roof, according to Greenpeace, who plan to stay there all night with their 'change the politics, save the planet' banners.
The protestors have timed the demonstration with the return of MPs to Westminster tomorrow, when they come back from the summer break for the first parliamentary session.
A statement on the Greenpeace website said: "With the Committee on Climate Change calling for a "step change" in UK action to cut emissions, and the vital Copenhagen climate summit in less than two months, the climbers say climate change should be right at the top of the political agenda."
Security in Parliament was increased in 2004 after some high-profile breaches but questions have continued to be raised about protection levels. The same year Greenpeace scaled Big Ben.
Greenpeace added: "We need politicians who are thinking about the next generation, not just the next election.
"The climbers have unfurled a banner on the roof of the Palace of Westminster's Great Hall which says: "CHANGE THE POLITICS, SAVE THE CLIMATE." They are vowing to stay on the roof overnight so they can welcome politicians back in the morning."
