Official dates for national postal strikes have been announced by union chiefs today.
Industrial action will begin on Thursday October 22nd and will see mail centre staff and network drivers walk out.
The following day delivery and collection workers will take strike action.
Financial analysts have warned the predicted week-long industrial action could cost the UK economy £1.5 billion.
The Communications Workers Union (CWU) bosses earlier met with their members following a three-to-one vote in support of strike action earlier this month.
The union has to give seven days notice ahead of any industrial action which will now begin next week.
The union has failed to resolve disagreements with Royal Mail over pay, working conditions and the overall modernisation of the postal service.
