Chancellor Alistair Darling and his Conservative and Liberal Democrat shadows George Osborne and Vince Cable will hold a live debate on the economy on March 29th, Channel 4 has confirmed.
The broadcaster said the debate, titled Ask the Chancellors, would be aired at 20:00 GMT and chaired by Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
The three men will debate with each other as well as facing questions from a studio audience and the chair.
Commenting on the debate, head of Channel 4 News and current affairs Dorothy Byrne said: "With the economy being the key issue of the election, this debate. will provide an opportunity for the audience to question each of the prospective chancellors - holding them and their policies to account."
The show will come a week after Mr Darling's delivers his final Budget before the general election, expected in May, and the three leaders' debates due to be broadcast on BBC, ITV and Sky during the general election campaign.
The dates of the three debates have not yet been announced.
