Brazilian wonderkid Alexandre Pato could follow team-mate Kaka out of AC Milan and join Chelsea, according to his agent.
Milan seem powerless to prevent their talisman Kaka heading to Real Madrid for a world record £56 million move. Chelsea have reportedly missed out on Kaka, despite offering more money and now look to have turned their attention to Pato.
The 19-year-old striker has become a star in Milan since moving there in 2007. The Rossoneri have insisted that Pato is not for sale, but his agent has now put doubt over his future by revealing that Chelsea have made their interest known for the player.
"Milan must decide what they want to do, we are enthusiastic about Chelsea's interest for the player, but the final decision is up to them," Pato's agent Gilmar Veloz told the Times. "Pato has a contract with Milan but, if they meet Chelsea's asking price, we're open to a move.
"Right now, however, all I can say is that I cannot guarantee that Pato will remain at Milan. It's up to the club."
Milan have admitted they are selling Kaka for economic reasons with chief executive Adriano Galliani saying the club could not "go on losing 70 million year". But Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has insisted that Pato would "not be sold, not now, not ever".
