A performance by American Idol star Adam Lambert at the American Music Awards has attracted more than 1,500 complaints.
Lambert's act at Sunday's award ceremony featured the singer simulating sex on stage as well as a kiss with a male musician.
Since the performance US broadcaster ABC has confirmed it has received a number of complaints about Lambert's performance of his debut single For Your Entertainment but described the total as "moderate".
The singer has said the kiss with the keyboard player was "in the moment".
The openly gay star told CNN if people were upset at his actions it represented "a form of discrimination and it's too bad".
The producers of the show are yet to comment on the complaints.
