Ospreys will become the first Welsh regional side to play a touring international side when they take on the Australians at Swansea's Liberty Stadium on November 1st.

The game comes three days before the Wallabies take on Wales on the first leg of their autumn tour of the northern hemisphere.

"This fixture will represent another significant step in the development of the Ospreys region," said the team's managing director Roger Blythe.

"When we were contacted by Australia, with the sanction of the WRU we jumped at the opportunity to face the Wallabies."

Blythe is also confident that the Ospreys will field a side that is more than a match for the tourists after their original plan to play Wales A fell through.

"We expect to face a strong Australian side and initial discussions suggest that the WRU will release back to us Wales team players not directly involved in the Test match on Saturday November 4th."

Gavin Henson is one of those who could face the visitors in club colours instead should he miss out for the 2005 Grand Slam winners.
