Wigan stand-off Danny Orr has headed south, signing a three-year deal with London club Harlequins.
The Great Britain international has been edged out of the JJB Stadium as the club prepares for the arrival of Australian Trent Barrett from the St George Illawarra Dragons.
But Quins coach Brian McDermott is pleased to have taken advantage of the situation as he looks to build on his team's solid seventh position in this year's Super League.
"Danny is a great player to have on board. He showed the type of form towards the end of last year which made him one of the most dangerous players in Super League," he said.
Orr, who made his name during a five-year spell with Castleford Tigers, is also eager for the fresh challenge that the capital offers.
"Quins have already made me feel really welcome and I have always wanted to play at a club where I know I am a valued team member," said the 28-year-old back.
It has been a busy period for McDermott with Orr the seventh close-season signing, following fellow Wigan star Chris Melling and forwards Jonathon Grayshon and David Toothill to the Stoop.
Australian Scott Hill, French international Julien Rinaldi and Sione Faumuina of New Zealand have also signed as the coach spread his net overseas in the search for the right personnel.
