Police have tonight been granted warrants of further detention for the five people who remain in custody in connection with ongoing anti-terrorist operations.
Anti-terror officers now have another week to question the suspects, with the deadline extended until September 6th.
Fifteen people have so far been charged in connection with the alleged plot to blow up transatlantic airliners, three of whom were today remanded in custody.
Mohammed Yasar Gulzar, 25, Mohammed Shamin Udin, 35, and Nabeel Hussain, 22, were all charged yesterday with conspiracy to murder contrary to section one of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
And they today appeared at City of Westminster magistrates court, where they were remanded in custody until September 4th.
The men, all from London, will then appear at the Old Bailey.
All three are accused under the Terrorism Act 2006 of intending "to smuggle the component parts of improvised explosive devices onto aircraft and assemble and detonate them on board".
Police revealed on August 10th that they had thwarted the suspected plot to blow up several planes travelling from the UK to the US using liquid explosives smuggled on to flights.
