The 21-year-old is in police custody ahead of his court appearance
A man has been charged with terrorism-related offences after being arrested last Friday, police have said.
The 21-year-old man, who has not been named, was charged with two offences under section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and one offence under section five of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Staffordshire police say the charges relate to the collection of information regarding, and preparation for, acts of terrorism.
Officers arrested the man as part of a pre-planned operation in south Staffordshire at 09:00 GMT last Friday.
The suspect, who is understood to be of no fixed abode, is currently in police custody and will appear at the City of Westminster magistrates court in London tomorrow morning.
"Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation," a Staffordshire police spokesperson said.
Police say there is "no specific threat" to Staffordshire or anywhere else and have ruled out any link with the arrests of nine men – two of whom have since been released without charge – in Birmingham last Wednesday on suspicion of terror offences.
