A Metropolitan police spokesman confirmed that three men aged 22, 27 and 35 were arrested at 05:00 GMT yesterday, although no charges will be levied against Doherty.
The singer has become synonymous with court appearances and trouble with the law, gaining notoriety for his well-publicised heroin addiction and subsequent drug offence charges.
His arrest yesterday came hours after he told fans at a gig that he had no plans to marry supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss, despite rumours of a new year wedding in Thailand.
