Newcastle came from 12-0 down to secure a draw at home to London Irish.
Fly-half Jimmy Gopperth scored all his side's points with the boot after the Exiles had gone in front thanks to tries from George Stowers and Steffon Armitage.
Indeed the home side, the Premiership's draw specialists, were left to rue to missed penalties from Gopperth that would have secured the win.
The Falcons have only won once at Kingston Park all season and they handed the initiative to the visitors immediately with a knock-on from the kick-off.
However, despite spending much of the opening five minutes camped in the Newcastle 22', Irish, who themselves were looking for their first win of 2010, were unable to capitalise.
It was the home side who had the first opportunity to register on the scoreboard but Jimmy Gopperth fluffed his lines when presented with two penalty attempts.
Peter Hewat then screwed a drop-goal attempt wide as the first quarter ended scoreless.
London Irish were having the better of the possession and territory, but were struggling to turn their dominance into points in the first 20 minutes.
However, they did not have to wait much longer to get on the scoreboard. Winger Hewat put a smart kick into the corner, where Micky Young was forced to concede a 5m line-out.
From this attacking platform the Exiles forwards exerted their considerable power to allow Stowers to burrow over for the first score of the game.
And, having waited so long to break the deadlock the visitors were quick to build on their lead. Again Hewat was the catalyst as his break set up ten phases of Exiles pressure before England flanker Armitage powered over to score.
Tom Homer then added the extras to give the visitors a 12-point lead.
The first half ended much the same way as it had begun, with Irish enjoying greater possession. However, they began to eat into Irish's lead thanks to a Gopperth penalty.
Newcastle started the second half strongly and were quickly back in the game with two Gopperth penalties in the first 15 minutes.
And when the fly-half from New Zealand stepped up to land a long-range penalty with just thirteen to go, the home side were level.
The second half was a complete reversal of the first 40 with the Falcons enjoying greater territory and all the scoring opportunities.
However, their backs were unable to make the most of the platform afforded to them by their forwards and the scores remained level at full-time.
