Andy Murray has been given a bye into round two of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
The Scot will now play either Gilles Simon or Mario Ancic in the second round of the tournament, which starts on Wednesday.
Murray has been placed on the same side of the draw as world number one Roger Federer, who has also been given a bye in the first round and faces Gael Monfils or John Isner in the next stage.
After the recent Masters Series event at Indiana Wells, in which Murray was knocked out in the last 16 by Tommy Haas, the young Brit has fallen to number 13 in the world rankings.
Fellow Briton Alex Bogdanovic will not be joining Murray in the Miami tournament, however.
Bogdanvic lost 6-4 3-6 6-1 to Serbia's Viktor Troicki and has not qualified for the first round.
On the opposite side of the draw to Murray will be the tournament's reigning champion, Novak Djokovic.
The Serb will be joined on that side of the draw by world number two Rafael Nadal and American James Blake.
Djokovic will be boosted going into this event after winning the Indian Wells competition last Sunday by beating American Mardy Fish in the final.
