Britain's Andy Murray has dropped out of the world's top three players following Novak Djokovic's tournament victory in the China Open earlier this month.
The Serbian star beat Marin Cilic in straight sets in the final of the event on October 11, securing the required points to usurp Murray from his spot immediately behind world number one Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Murray is currently out injured because of a wrist problem he aggravated while on Davis Cup duty for Great Britain against Poland last month - which has forced him to miss all three of his scheduled tournaments since the US Open.
At Flushing Meadows, Murray - then seeded number two after overtaking Nadal in the rankings in August - suffered an early exit to Cilic in the fourth round.
The Scot's next scheduled tournament is the Valencia Open early next month - one of only two events, alongside the Paris Masters a week later, that will come before the ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena in late November.
