Andy Murray was in ruthless form as he crushed Serbian qualifier Viktor Troicki 6-1 6-0 at the Miami Masters this evening.

The British number one was made to work hard in his first two matches as he spent over two hours on court in both his matches against Juan Monaco and Nicolas Massu. But Murray was completely dominant against Troicki as he wrapped up victory in just 58 minutes.

The Scot won the first five games as a nervous Troicki came up with a series of unforced errors. The Serb, who had beaten David Nalbandian earlier in the tournament, managed to get a game to make it 5-1, but Murray wrapped up the first set with ease.

Troicki could only get 33% of his first serves in during the entire match, while Murray was up at an impressive 71%. And the gulf in class between the players was even more evident in the second set as Murray cruised to a 6-0 win.

"I played well today I concentrated hard and my tactics were pretty much spot on. It's nice to get off the court quickly it was tough conditions today," Murray told Sky Sports.

"He didn't hit his first serve particularly well and that's his best weapon. I got off to a great start breaking him and then took confidence from that.

"I hadn't started particularly well my first couple of matches but once I started well today I started to hit the ball much better. I used my short slice really, really well and he obviously struggled because I was in every one of his service games."

Murray will now face either Czech Radek Stepanek or the man who knocked him out of the Australian Open, Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the next round.
