The bereaved husband of the late Brittany Murphy has said his wife had been unwell in the days leading up to her death.
The Clueless actress was found dead on Sunday at her Los Angeles home, having suffered a full cardiac arrest at the age of 32.
An autopsy has been carried out but the cause of Murphy's death will not be confirmed until toxicology tests have been carried out in the next four to six weeks.
Prescription medication was seized from the home Murphy shared with husband Simon Monjack but Captain John Kades of the Los Angeles county sheriff's department stressed none of the drugs were in the property illegally and said Murphy's body showed no sign of trauma and foul play.
Monjack, a screenwriter, said he had been left devastated by his wife's passing and hit out at reports labelling him a bad influence on the Sin City star.
"My world was destroyed yesterday," he told Access Hollywood. "[Her mother] Sharon went into the bathroom because she had been in there a long time. Her mom screamed for me and I ran. Then called 911," he said of seeing his spouse collapsed in the shower.
Monjack added: ""She had laryngitis... She had been tired at the end of the year. She had made a couple movies."
Murphy's estranged father, Angelo Bertolotti, had described his late daughter as an "absolute doll" and admitted he was "sceptical" about her marriage to Monjack.
"It just astounds me that she's dead," he told the Daily News. "She was just so bubbly, even as a little girl. I don't recall her ever having any health problems."
"She got married and everything seemed to go downhill," Bertolotti added, with a 'friend' of Murphy's also expressing concern about the union.
"When Brittany married Simon, she cut off communication with a number of people who cherished her," the source told the Daily News. "She lived in denial about him."
Monjack responded angrily to suggestions he had been a controlling influence on Murphy, saying: "I don't know why anyone would think that. She found love. We found love."
He added: "Brittany didn't get to where Brittany was with anyone controlling her... Brittany was Brittany."
