Everton manager David Moyes spoke of his relief that his side's good performances had finally been rewarded with a win following their 2-0 win over Manchester City at Goodison Park.
Moyes watched as his side dominated City in a spirited display. Goals by Steven Pienaar and Louis Saha gave Everton a win over a mediocre City side, but it was the man of the match performance by Marouane Fellaini which had the manager drooling as he claimed there was no one better in his position.
The Toffees boss said: "I said a few weeks ago that he was playing as well as anyone in the league and I think a few people thought I was losing my mind but anyone who watched the game couldn't question it at all."
Reflecting on the team's performance Moyes confirmed that a measure of revenge had been gained following Manchester City's bullish pursuit of Joleon Lescott in the summer.
"I thought the players did a great job and we probably should have won by more," he continued.
"It is satisfying to win when you think you haven't been treated right so I will enjoy this victory and look towards the next game."
