Celtic manager Tony Mowbray believes his side got their just rewards after the Scottish outfit's victory over Dinamo Moscow.
The Bhoys 2-0 victory in the Russian capital overturned a 1-0 deficit from the first leg - the first time Celtic have achieved such a feat when losing at home in the opening rubber. The win also ended a winless streak on the continent that stretches back to 2003.
"Over the two 90 minutes I think the better team came through the tie," Mowbray said. "We controlled the game for long spells and got our rewards in the end."
Scott McDonald struck moments before the interval after a sweeping move from midfield. And the tie seemed destined for extra-time before former Manchester City man Georgios Samaras stuck in stoppage time.
"I always believed we'd score tonight, but nobody is getting carried away. We've got a lot of hard work ahead of us. We've got to keep going."
"We came here tonight trying to be positive and believing we had better players than them.
"We tried to control the football match and I think we managed to do that.
"There wasn't a host of chances at either end, but I think we deserved to win the game."
Victory sees Celtic progress to the final qualifying round of the Champions League, where they could face Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Lyon, Stuttgart or Fiorentina. The draw takes place on Friday.
