Jose Mourinho has revealed he had clear-the-air talk with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich last week and that the pair have resolved their differences.
Mourinho felt that Abramovich was not giving him sufficient backing when he wanted to sign players to help his injury-hit squad last January, while the Russian felt Mourinho had already spent enough at the start of the season.
This led to speculation that the Portuguese manager's time at Stamford Bridge could be nearing an end.
But Mourinho says everything is fine and that the pair have an understanding after their meeting last week.
He told the News of the World: "It left everything clear between us so there is no doubt, no doubt at all. I know what he thinks, I know what he feels, I know what he wants.
"And he knows me as a person, as a manager and he knows the way I work.
"It was an easy, long and enjoyable meeting and I was more than delighted - the air is clear again and there is no problem."
Mourinho said he wants to stay at the Blues for another eight years and see out his contract which expires in 2010.
"I want to stay and if Chelsea had wanted to make a change, they would have done it by now," he said.
The Blues boss said he was not tempted to move to Spain or Italy because he felt the English league was the best to be involved with.
Chelsea made a good start to their pre-season tour of the US last night when they beat Mexican side Club America 2-1 thanks to goals from captain John Terry and new signing Florent Malouda.
