The British mother of two children found murdered in a Spanish hotel has today been charged with their murder.
Lianne Smith, 43, was told by a court on the Costa Brava that there was evidence she was responsible for the deaths of her five-year-old daughter Rebecca and 11-month old son Daniel.
A post-mortem showed the two young children were asphyxiated in Lloret de Mar in Spain last Tuesday.
Mrs Smith's husband, Martin Smith, 45, has appeared in court in Cumbria charged with unrelated child sex offences.
Yesterday a service was held by local people and holidaymakers at the Spanish resort to remember the children.
