Morientes promises bright future

Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes has said that he still has plenty to offer the club.
The Spanish international has struggled to make an impact since arriving on Merseyside in January 2005, scoring just 11 goals in 55 games.
With manager Rafael Benitez admitting that he wants to sign a striker in the summer, Morientes may find himself surplus to requirements but he insists he still has a part to play.
"I have a lot to offer this club, although I know I haven't played to my full level as often as I would have liked, but my best is coming," Morientes told Liverpool's official magazine.
"It does not matter what you have achieved in the past, it is irrelevant as you always have something to prove."
The former Real Madrid striker arrived for £6m amid high hopes from fans that he would be the ideal replacement for Michael Owen, who left for the Spanish capital in the previous summer.
But Morientes has failed to establish himself at Anfield and he admits that he has struggled to adapt to English football.
"It took longer than expected to adapt to the physical demands of the English game as you do not get any time on the ball at all before someone is on top of you and snapping at your heels," Morientes added.
"It's very different to the way I had played before in my career, but now I have now adapted to it better I am really enjoying it."
Morientes has been linked with a move back to Spain in the summer, with Espanyol reportedly interested.
