The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has announced two further days of strike action by Royal Mail staff.
As the second day of the second wave of strikes draws to an end, the CWU has said strikes will also be taking place on November 6th and 9th.
Some 400 workers at sites in Plymouth, Stockport and Stoke were on strike today, with 77,000 delivery and collection staff due to strike tomorrow.
The union and the Royal Mail have so far failed to reach an agreement to prevent the continuing strike action, despite lengthy talks.
The CWU has criticised the postal service for hiring more pre-Christmas staff than usual to deal with the back-log of mail caused by the strikes. The union has said the decision to hire some 30,000 temporary members of the staff is a breach of employment law.
The Royal Mail has criticised the CWU for "playing havoc with customer confidence", while the union has said they are "committed to reaching an agreed resolution".
