Chelsea's big-money teenager Jon Obi Mikel has apologised to Blues manager Jose Mourinho as concern over his behaviour since his summer move to Stamford Bridge grows.
The Nigerian, who was eventually landed in a £16 million deal by the Premiership champions, was sent off in his first league outing for his new club and has yet to be included in any subsequent Chelsea squads.
Mourinho is also understood to be less than impressed by his starlet's attitude towards training, but Mikel has pledged to the Portuguese tactician that he will mend his ways.
The former Lynn Oslo midfielder, accompanied by lawyer John Shittu, met with Mourinho for clear-the-air talks in an attempt to get his Chelsea career back on track.
It is not only his employers that are worried about the 19-year-old however with Mikel's own father also voicing concern about his son's future.
"I don't know why he is behaving like this and we are not happy about it. We are all involved in his football career, the whole family is worried and we hope to see a better Mikel," Michael Obi said.
"I hope to see him return to action and I hope to see him play a good-boy role again, because his coach loves him."
