Mendieta out for season

Gaizka Mendieta has broken his foot in training and will require an operation which will rule him out for the rest of season.
The news will come as a massive blow to Middlesbrough's chances of overcoming a two-goal deficit in the Uefa Cup quarter-final.
Mendieta will also miss Boro's cup quarter-final with Charlton due to his broken metatarsal bone.
The Spanish midfielder has suffered a series of injuries in the last few years of a career, which exploded so promisingly while he was at Valencia.
Mendieta was thought to be one of the world's finest midfield players and Lazio bought him for a massive £32 million. Injury and loss of form resulted in a loan move to Barcelona and then to Middlesbrough.
The deal became permanent in 2004 when he signed a four-year-deal but since then injuries have hampered his progress.
He has however made 72 appearances for the Teeside club scoring six times and has become a vital member of the squad.
Mendieta will undergo surgery to repair the broken bone and it is thought that he will be out of action for 12 weeks.
