An unbeaten century from former England international Anthony McGrath gave Yorkshire the edge on day one of their County championship match against Durham.
McGrath reached 140 off 227 balls as the visitors were skittled out for 339 with captain Darren Lehmann (58) the only batsman to forge a partnership with the all-rounder.
Fast bowler Ottis Gibson led the way for the hosts by demolishing the top-order to finish with figures of 3-85 from 17 overs.
Durham finished at stumps on 64-2 with former England academy player Gordon Muchall unbeaten on 35.
Elsewhere, England hopeful Ed Joyce hit an unbeaten century for Middlesex in their game with Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
The left-handed batsman is on 158 after facing 248 balls as the visitors piled on the runs after choosing to bat first.
Middlesex were in early trouble after they lost openers Ed Smith (30) and England one-day player Owais Shah (10).
But Nick Compton, who hit 52, and Joyce put on a third-wicket partnership of 71 to put the visitors in a strong position by the end of the first day on 344-5.
Elsewhere, Nottinghamshire's bowlers were given a day to forget at Trent Bridge after taking just one wicket in their division one match against Hampshire.
The visitors finished the day on 301-1 with Jimmy Adams (123) and veteran John Crawley (106) grinding out unbeaten centuries.
The hosts trio of Ryan Sidebottom, Charles Shreck and Gareth Smith forced to bowl 69 overs between them with Sidebottom the only bowler to pick up a wicket after a series of chances were dropped by the Notts fielders.
