Tiger Woods has signaled his intent to win every event in which he competes over the remainder of the 2008 season.

Speaking after he eased to victory in the World Match Play Championship in Arizona, the world number one explained that although he feels his game is still a "work in process" he sees no reason why he shouldn't enjoy a perfect season this year.

"This is the best stretch I have ever played," he said.

"I have a better understanding of how to play the game and how to fix my game, and have a lot more shots than I've ever had."

He added that he feels he is in better form than he was in 1999 - the year that saw him scoop seven titles in 11 tournaments.

The 32-year old will be aiming to win his 14th major title at the Masters in April.

At present Woods is 12-1 with a number of bookmakers to clinch a unprecedented grand slam of the game's four major titles in one season, having previously held them all at one time - now known as the "Tiger Slam" in 2000.

In addition, he is also aiming to match Bryan Nelson's run of 11 consecutive tournament wins, a record which has stood since 1945.
