A 29-year-old man has been arrested in central London on an international arrest warrant in relation to alleged terrorist offences.

Garikoitz Ibarlucea Murua was arrested in Soho by officers from the Metropolitan police's extradition unit on Sunday.

Police confirmed the 29-year-old had been detained on behalf of the Spanish authorities "under a European arrest warrant alleging 'terrorist offences'".

He is now due to appear at City of Westminster magistrates' court on Monday.
