A man has been charged in connection with the murder of Vikki Thompson, who was killed while walking her dog in 1995.
Thames Valley police confirmed on Thursday morning Mark Weston, 34, from Ascott-under-Wychwood, had been charged.
He later appeared at Oxford crown court and was remanded into custody.
Ms Thompson, a mother-of-two from the same village as the suspect, was found badly beaten and unconscious at the side of a railway line near her home on August 12th 1995 after disappearing while walking her dog.
The 30-year-old later died in hospital.
Her family released a statement yesterday describing her as "a loving wife and mother".
"Vikki herself deserves the justice that has not yet been found," they added.
