Police have arrested a 31-year-old man following the fatal stabbing of a three-year-old boy in south-east London.
Metropolitan police officers were contacted shortly after 18:00 GMT on Monday following reports a woman and a child had been injured in Lynton Estate in Southwark.
Three people were taken subsequently taken to hospital - a woman, aged 28, who was suffering a neck wound; a girl, aged 17 months, who was unhurt; and a man aged 31 who was suffering serious stab wounds.
The three-year-old boy was also found at the address, suffering from stab wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they know the identity of the child but not all next of kin have been informed.
The woman has now been discharged from hospital, while the young girl did not require any treatment.
The 31-year-old man remains in a south London hospital and his condition is believed to be "stable". Police later confirmed he had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A statement from the Met said officers were looking into all circumstances surrounding the boy's death.
A post mortem is due to be held at Great Ormond Street hospital mortuary at 14:00 GMT tomorrow.
