Newcastle United have completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan for a fee of £4 million.
The 26-year-old former Trotters captain has signed a long-term contract with the Magpies which sees him commit his future to the club for four-and-a-half years until the end of the 2012/13 season.
Liverpool-born Nolan, who will take the number four shirt with the club, said he cannot wait to get started after opting to leave the Reebok Stadium for St James' Park.
"It's all happened so quickly but it was an opportunity which was impossible to turn down," Nolan told the club's official website.
"I can't wait to play in front of these fans every week and I'm really looking forward to the next four-and-a-half years."
In his ten years with Bolton, Nolan - a firm fans' favourite - made more than 300 appearances and won England under-21 honours earlier this century, winning two caps before he became ineligible in 2004.
