Floyd Mayweather Jr announced his return to professional boxing with a well-deserved and dominant victory over Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas.
Mayweather, who returned to the ring for the first time in 21 months since he retired after beating Ricky Hatton in December 2007, was a clear winner, even though the fight went the distance and was decided on points.
The American knocked his opponent to the canvas in the second round, and although Marquez recovered somewhat midway through the bout, Mayweather's superior punching and quick left hand.
The three judges all scored the fight in Mayweather's favour - 118-109, 120-107 and 119-108 - as the 32-year-old took his career record to 40 wins out of 40 with 25 knockouts.
