Lily Allen has hit out at her rivals for the Brit Awards, criticising them for promoting their chances of winning a gong.

The 'LDN' singer is up for a clutch of awards, including Best British Solo Artist, Best British Breakthrough Act, Best British Single and Best British Album, and has been widely tipped to be a big winner at the annual music event.

However, Allen has refused to be drawn into any major publicity to increase her chances of winning and was dismissive of attempts by other artists to garner support.

"I know everyone's doing online campaigns to try and win a Brit Award but I think that's a bit whack," she said.

Allen's comments come hot on the heels of reports that she may not even attend the music industry's showpiece event.

Sources told the Sun the talented singer was considering boycotting the awards because of fears she may miss out on an award despite her nominations, with other international commitments also potentially clashing with the Brits.

The ceremony is set to take place on Valentine's Day, February 14th, at Earl's Court in London.
