Rap star Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a weapon and could face up to a year in jail.
The A Milli star is currently out on bail but will be sentenced in February after his guilty plea, which relates to a 2007 incident.
The rapper, real name Dwayne Michael Carter, had previously pleaded guilty to the charge of illegal gun possession, a charge which would have carried a three-and-a-half-year jail sentence had he been convicted.
The 27-year-old, a father of three, changed his plea in a Manhattan courtroom on Thursday, telling the court he owned a "40-caliber semi-automatic" weapon.
It is expected that he could serve eight to ten months in jail after sentencing in February 2010.
A gun had been found on Wayne's tour bus in July 2007, after police officers pulled the vehicle over when believing they had smelled marijuana smoke.
When officers neared the vehicle, Wayne was alleged to have attempted to hide a bag containing the weapon in question.
Wayne is also scheduled to face trial in Arizona over felony drug possession and weapons charges relating to a January 2008 arrest at a US border checkpoint.
