Leeds Rhinos put on an impressive display as they easily defeated Salford City Reds 52-14, while Wigan Warriors battled past Huddersfield Giants 20-12.
Leeds were in commanding form during their victory over bottom-of-the-league Salford, running in nine tries in total.
Jamie Thackray and Danny McGuire went over twice each with Ryan Hall, Kyle Leuluai, Keith Senior, Scott Donald and Ali Lauitiiti also scoring.
Salford grabbed three tries of their own through Stuart Littler, Luke Dorn and Andy Coley but these were nothing more than consolation.
The Reds remain rooted to the bottom of the league and now have just five games to save their top-flight status, while Leeds move level on points with leaders St Helens.
Wigan bounced back after recent poor form to gain a much-needed victory in a close game with Huddersfield at the JJB Stadium.
Darrell Goulding and Mick Higham scored the tries for the home team while Stephen Wild and Chris Nero crossed for Huddersfield.
The kicking of Pat Richards was the difference between the two sides in the end, his six successful attempts at goal handing Wigan victory.
The victory will be gratefully received after a terrible period for the club involving being docked points for breaching the salary gap and three back-to-back defeats including the shock loss to Catalans Dragons in the Challenge Cup semi-final.
