By James Christie.

Leeds United have landed an away trip to Oldham Athletic after the draw for the first round of the FA Cup was made at FA headquarters.

The draw, which was conducted by England cricketer Jimmy Anderson and former England left back Chris Powell, featured former Cup winners such as Leeds, Charlton and Southampton as well as former runners-up such as Brighton and Luton.

Leeds, who lifted the trophy in 1972, should be the favourites to beat Oldham when they play on the 7th or 8th of November as they are currently top of League One.

Southampton, winners in 1976, face a tricky away tie to Bristol Rovers while Notts County will be counting on the expertise of Sven Goran Ericsson to help them win their home tie against Bradford City.

Charlton Athletic's only FA Cup triumph came in 1947, they must travel to Northwich Victoria to keep their Wembley dreams alive.

Southern League Division One minnows Paulton Rovers have landed a plum tie against three-time semi-finalists Norwich City.
