US pop star Lady GaGa dominated the 2010 Brit awards on Tuesday night, offering a typically quirky perfomance as well as claiming all three prizes for which she was nominated.
The Bad Romance singer took the best international album award for The Fame as well as winning best international female and breakthrough act.
Dizzee Rascal accepted his best British male Brit with the words "It's about time" while Lily Allen took the best British female prize having opened the ceremony with a performance of her hit The Fear while sat astride a blimp.
The event marked the past 30 years of Brit awards history and saw the Spice Girls' 1997 performance of Wannabe and Who Do You Think You Are named the best performance in the awards' history.
Oasis' victory in the best album of the last 30 years category, however, was tarnished by a foul-mouthed acceptance speech from Liam Gallagher.
But host Peter Kay brought smiles to the audience's faces instantly, remarking: "What a knobhead" after Gallagher's comments.
The ceremony concluded with an impressive live medley from Robbie Williams, who won the honorary award for outstanding contribution to music.
