Former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova is through to the US Open final after beating Anna Chakvetadze 3-6 6-1 6-1.
The 2004 winner at Flushing Meadows fought back from a set down to beat her compatriot on a sweltering day in New York.
Six-seed Chakvetadze struggled with her serve in the second set to force a decider.
The 22-year-old romped home after winning five games on the trot to book her place in tomorrow's final.
In a semi-final lacking quality, Kuznetsova made a host of errors in the opening set and was broken twice by Chakvetadze in games four and nine.
Chakvetadze failed to hold her nerve with successive double faults to lose her serve in game four of the second set. Fourth seed Kuznetsova then broke on two more occasions to level the match at 1-1.
Kuznetsova dominated the final set with Chakvetadze continuing to misfire on her forehand.
She sealed the match, after Chakvetadze sent a backhand wide, to clinch her place in the final where she will play Justine Henin.
