Tottenham captain Ledley King hailed his team's 2-1 win over Arsenal a 'massive' result in their bid to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Debutant Danny Rose opened the scoring with a stunning 30 yard volley before Gareth Bale added a second after half-time.
Nicklas Bendtner pulled a goal back for Arsenal late on but Heurelho Gomes ensured a Spurs victory with a string of fine saves.
The victory was Tottenham's first over Arsenal in the league in 20 attempts and means they are still in the race for fourth spot.
It also saw Spurs recover from their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Portsmouth at the weekend.
"It's massive," King admitted after the final whistle.
"Coming off a disappointing result in the cup, it was a good time to play Arsenal. We had no time to dwell on that. We knew we had this coming up.
"I've seen the table and it's a big, big result for us. It was important we bounced back - we feel we can beat anyone at home."
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp admitted Arsenal had dominated much of the possession but believes the performance of his team's defence and in particular KIng had made the difference.
"They played well Arsenal, they had a lot of the ball, but they didn't have too many clear chances until the end," he said.
"Ledley is special. He was special for us tonight."
