Amir Khan is to take on Englishman Ryan Barrett in his first fight back in his home town of Bolton since his opening professional bout in July 2005.
Southpaw Barrett has won 12 of his 15 professional encounters, although only three of those victories have come inside the distance.
Still he is confident of causing an upset against the Olympic silver medallist by inflicting Khan's first professional defeat when the two meet on September 2nd.
"Khan is in for the worst night of his life. The odds are stacked against me but I'll definitely win," he said.
"If people think I am going to Bolton to be just a test for Khan then they are very wrong and are in for a shock. I am not there to make him look good in front of the TV viewers and his fans."
Khan has an impressive, if short, record to contend with, taking eight victories from his eight fights, six of which left the judges untroubled.
In his last outing, in July, the 19-year-old stopped Scotland's Colin Bain in the second round.
The pair will fight on the under-card of Clinton Woods' defence of his IBF light heavyweight title against Glen Johnson.
